The United States of America (USA) is the People’s country. It is high time “We the People” start taking responsibility for our country and stop blaming our problems on those we hire to administer our country. If we get hired by a business to do a certain job and we fail to do that job, what happens to us? We more often than not (and rightfully should) get fired so the business can replace us by new prospects that will hopefully perform the job more productively. If the new prospects don’t produce, they get fired and the cycle continues until someone is found that can get the job done.
If those put in charge of a business fail to fulfill their responsibility of hiring competent people, then the business itself fails. In the case of large, public companies, a Board of Directors will replace those in charge in a last-ditch effort to prevent the business from failing. In 1788, “We the People” were put in charge of the USA by our Constitution, and nothing has changed that assignment from that point forward. As those put in charge of the USA, it is time we start taking the heavy responsibility that our forefathers gave us. It is time for us to retake control of our country!
The Representatives we have hired to “represent” us in Congress have failed us miserably for many years running, so why do we continually allow the majority of them (the incumbents) to keep their jobs? If we were employees hired by these incumbents, they would certainly not allow us to keep our jobs. So why are we so afraid to do our part and take responsibility for our own business? It is not the fault of our elected Representatives that our country doesn’t work. It is our fault for allowing them to keep their jobs when they don’t produce anything for us. They obviously don’t know how to do the job we hired them to do. It is now our responsibility to follow the business cycle and fire the incumbents and give a new set of prospects the opportunity to represent us properly.
We have started to follow a more responsible path, as can be seen by the anti-establishment movements that monopolize the news in our race for President. The President, however, is only one-third of our Government. Why should Congress get a free pass? Every two years, we are given the opportunity to review the performance of those we placed into the House of Representatives. If the House doesn’t produce what we ask of them, then they have failed to represent us as the Constitution requires and it is our responsibility, as those put in charge of the USA, to give new prospects a chance.
The character Oliver Queen from CW’s “Arrow” is often heard to say, “You have failed this city”. It is time for us to realize our Representatives have “failed this country” and show them the country belongs to “We the People”! Don’t just sit back and let things happen the way they happen. Take the rights and responsibilities given to us by our forefathers who fought and died to give us those things and do what needs to be done. To all incumbents, send a message this November. The message is, “if you fail to produce for us, you will be fired!” If “We the People” opt to elect 435 new prospects this fall and they fail to produce like the current Representatives have, then do the same thing in 2018. Don’t just sit idle and accept the way things are when you have been given the power and responsibility to change those things. The USA belongs to “We the People”. That’s our parents, grandparents, cousins, children, friends, enemies, and people we don’t know. That’s you and that’s me. Let’s start putting control of our country back where it belongs!
