Civil War 2009 - ??? and My Need to Take a Break from Social Media

June 24, 2018

Today, I announce my personal withdrawal from Social Media for which I will check back in November to see if anything has improved. With Civil War raging all around us, I find myself fighting on two different fronts and I have realized recently that I don’t have the energy to fight both fronts. As a result, I have chosen to retreat on the Social Media front and focus on priorities where the War is hitting me too close to home. So, farewell to all friends, family, and other interested parties for the next four months.

There are many potential starting points for our current U.S. Civil War, but I am going to nominate the rise of the Tea Party in 2009 with their completely obstructionist agenda which has spread into both Establishments that still control our Country today, in spite of a major shift by the Establishment on the Right. Since 2009, the only major legislative accomplishments of note have been passed along purely partisan lines, with the exception of only one budget resolution to keep the Country functional, with no reasonable negotiations evident during these nine years from either of the Establishment Parties.

Among the major battles of our current Civil War, ObamaCare was passed along partisan lines with little to no input from the Republican Party. That act appeared to energize the Right to seize control of our Government so they could exact their revenge rather than attempt to Govern. After many failures within their own Party, the Right finally passed a purely partisan Tax Reform Bill.

I have found that those on the Right who were truly hurt by the partisan move to pass ObamaCare can not find it in themselves to forgive that maneuver, even if it does come with many positives to accompany the many negatives. Then, once the Right seized control, they set their sights to pass their partisan Tax Bill without any input from the Left and many on the Left also seem unwilling to forgive that maneuver, even though initial signs are showing some level of promise for many while also hurting some.

In November, the silent majority will go to the Polls to let the Left or Right know if they favor the direction the Trump Administration has put our Country on, or if they favor the more diplomatic approaches of the past. Whether you are Left, Right, or Center, you need to be prepared to make your voice heard. If you want us to stay on the path Trump has put us on, then elect Trump Republicans. If you want us to be on a different path, then elect either a Democrat or a worthy Independent. Whatever you do, don’t let this Civil War rage without taking a stand to make the United States the Country YOU want it to be. Our Founding Fathers willfully gave the United States to We the People and We the People need to stop bowing down to established Political Parties that represent no one but themselves.

Best of luck to all and may we come out the other side of this War with an eye toward Restoration, before we get beyond the point of Reparation!

Farewell, for now, to the Battleground that Facebook has become.
