Dear Parents of Current and Future Teenage Internet Users,
Based on my work experience with the FBI Cyber Crime Division and a question that came across my screen today, I wanted to share a little friendly advice with all of you. It is my strong belief that NO PERSON under 16 should have either private (e.g. bedrooms) or exclusive (e.g. their very own laptop) use of a computer that can be connected to the Internet.
And at 16 and older, we all (this includes us parents) need to be careful who we THINK we are talking to when using the Internet! We don't want our loved ones to become part of the growing population of Internet crime victims (some of which turn into violent, real-life nightmares)! When it comes to using the Internet, the only safe level of trust is NO TRUST!!!
