A Case for Impeachment?

January 17, 2020

President Donald Trump, aka @realDonaldTrump, can do no wrong. For those looking to generate a list for yourself, here is a very small sampling of some of those things that some 45% of Americans don’t think are wrong, though I suspect those opinions would likely change if someone from an opposing perspective tried to do these same things:

1. Use of official position to inappropriately impact lawful federal investigations.

2. Use of official position to demand that an FBI Director swear blind loyalty to the President of the United States.

3. Use of official position in an attempt to force the Attorney General of the United States to un-recuse himself from an investigation in which the Attorney General had already recused himself for valid reasons.

4. Used the power of his official position in multiple attempts to intimidate witnesses against him.

5. Use of official position to illegally withhold Congressionally authorized funds for personal political reasons against the interests of the United States.

6. Use of official position to direct witnesses within his Executive Branch not to comply with legally authorized Congressional subpoenas.

We live in America and, until Congress is dissolved and the Constitution is rewritten, every American has the right to believe what they want about what is right and what is wrong within U.S. borders. I’d just like to point out that this isn’t a balance sheet. One act of right does not cancel out one act of wrong. For the future of the United States, or whatever it is to eventually be called, everyone needs to decide and everyone needs to be counted. That is how things work best the way we are structured today!
